How To Play Wordoku

Wordoku is the alphabetic equivalent to the hugely popular game of sudoku. In Wordoku, which is also known as Godoku, the rules are the same as its numeric equivalent but with one additional twist: when completed, the nine cells reading from the top left of the wordoku grid to the bottom right diagonally will spell out a 9 letter word.

For those unfamiliar with sudoku puzzles the rules of Wordoku are as follows:

A wordoku puzzle consists of a grid of 81 squares divided up into 3x3 blocks, 9 square columns and 9 square rows.

The object of the game is to complete the puzzle grid so that every space is filled by one of the 9 letters used in this particular wordoku puzzle in such a way that the following conditions are met:

1. Every 9 cell row contains just one unique copy of a letter.
2. Every 9 cell column contains just one unique copy of a letter.
3. Every 3x3 block of cells (divided off by the thicker lines in the puzzle grid) contains just one unique copy of the letter.

Duplications of a letter in any row, column or 3x3 block invalidates your answer.

The letters used in each puzzle are shown below the wordoku / godoku puzzle grid and will vary from puzzle to puzzle.
